Lenten Discipline
I am seeking a lenten discipline. Since I am not in a liturgical church, Ash Wednesday sometimes sneaks past me and I forget, but this year I want to really embrace Lent and grow in discipline.
What to do?
I am seeking to become more prayerful.
I am seeking to become more worshipful.
I am seeking to become more like Jesus.
I am considering taking up a prayer discipline like the Divine Hours or doing a special daily Lectio Divina...
I am open to suggestions, and will keep praying. I have until tomorrow to decide.

I really identify with this post. I would say I'm seeking the same things, except for the Divine Hours kind of stuff.
In my personal experience, it doesn't work. For me, that is. I hope it works for you.
Thanks for the thoughts. I surfed over to your blog and found plenty of food for thought there.
For me, discipline is about humbling myself to become more open to God's transformation in my life. And sometimes adopting something different will actually (I hope) increase my freedom in Christ.
Blessings--
I have a friend that uses a lot the disciplines. He has a master degree in missions, and he is someone I respect a lot in terms of knowledge. Disciplines work great for him. If they do the same for you, then use them until they stop being usefull (if that happens).
Hello my dear.
Here is a link to lent.
